MEG successfully responds and tackles one of the first cases in the nation of the (H1N1) swine flu virus.
During June of 2009 Miller Environmental Group responded to an emergency response call from a customer to sanitize/disinfect a 26,000 square foot School in Long Island, New York that was subjected to swine flu(H1N1) after one of the students was diagnosed with the virus.
Following acceptable Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and New York State Health Department guidelines for virological techniques, sanitation and infection control, MEG Metro/Long Island Operations mobilized a nine man crew to begin a systematic disinfectant fogging and clean-up of all potential high contact surfaces throughout the entire school.
The project was completed in two days and being one of the first responses in the nation for a H1N1 decontamination. It was great to see the professionalism and quality job that the crew exhibited during the entire clean-up.
With the flu season approaching, MEG stands ready to respond in the event of another such incident with the necessary equipment, experienced crew and proven plan.
